F54 Mini Cooper Clubman

Years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020

The Clubman comes in three trims (Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works). Once you’ve chosen a trim, you have three levels to choose from: Classic, Signature, and Iconic. The Signature carries a $3,500 to $4,000 price increase compared to the Classic, and the Iconic costs $5,000 to $6,000 more than the Signature. The higher levels offer more features than the Classic. The F54 Mini Cooper Clubman is one of the more fun-to-drive subcompact cars.

The ALL4 all-wheel-drive powertrain includes electro-hydraulic differential, positioned directly on the transmission’s final drive, to vary the power distribution from front to rear. Under normal driving conditions, up to 50 percent of the engine’s power goes to the rear wheels. Under “extreme” conditions (“extreme” being undefined) up to 100 percent heads to the back wheels.

About The F54 Clubman

The F54 Mini Cooper Clubman engine consists of 3 turbo’s. The Clubman gives you three engine options: a 134-horsepower, turbocharged three-cylinder, a 189-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder, and a 228-horsepower turbo-four. The base three-cylinder engine is adequate, but the turbo-fours pack more punch and make the Clubman more fun to drive.

Is the F54 Mini Cooper Clubman a good car?

More Info

Yes, the Mini Cooper Clubman is a good car. Its three available turbocharged engines deliver ample power, and it handles better than many rivals. The stylish interior provides a good amount of passenger and cargo space. It also boasts one of the highest predicted reliability ratings among subcompact cars. However, the Clubman gets some of the worst fuel economy ratings in the class.

How is the Mini Cooper Clubman's cargo space?

More Info

Few subcompact cars have the kind of cargo space this Mini provides. You get 17.5 cubic feet with the rear seats in use, or enough room for more than a dozen shopping bags. Fold the rear seats down, and you have nearly 48 cubes, which Mini claims is enough space to hold a washing machine.

Which is better: Mini Clubman or Mini Countryman?

More Info

The Mini Countryman belongs to the subcompact SUV class, but it’s a compelling alternative to the Clubman. Cargo space is about equal, but the Countryman has more passenger room than its sibling. Both have comparable interior styling and features. The Clubman costs a bit less, and that might be reason enough to choose it.
