F56 Mini Cooper Hatchback

Years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020

The F56 Mini Cooper 2-Door Hatchback shape is slightly more rounded than the one it replaces, in order both to improve the car’s aerodynamic efficiency and to enhance pedestrian protection in the event of accidents. It has a much longer overhang and higher bonnet. This latest model rides on BMW’s all new UKL platform that underpins the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer.

The 3-door Mini with an automatic transmission will reach 0–60 mph in 7.3 seconds for the 1.5L 3-cylinder petrol model and in 6.4 seconds with the 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine. It sits in the middle of the MINI line-up between the entry-level One and the more powerful Cooper S.

About The F56 Hatchback

The F56 Mini Cooper Hatchback comes in a 6 speed automatic and 6 speed manual transmission gearbox. The LCI brought twin turbos to the 3-cylinder diesel engines, albeit with no changes in output. The 6-speed Steptronic torque-converter was also replaced by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission in all models but the Cooper SD and JCW, with the latter now fitted with a 8-speed Steptronic auto. These changes allow for improved efficiency, improved performance and better emissions.

The 2015 MINI Cooper hardtop is the third generation of the “new MINI” that launched more than 10 years ago, bringing the spunky British rollerskate-on-wheels to the U.S. for the first time since 1967. But now it comes in two versions: not only the familiar three-door hatchback, but a five-door hatchback as well.
